Weekend highlights, July 16, 2010


Friday, the Borelli Big Band does a concert on the common in Brookfield; the Frank Vignola Trio is the act at the EcoTarium’s Jazz at Sunset series; Sean Taylor sings at Greendale’s; Roomful of Blues is at the Bull Run in Shirley; the Summer Street Band rocks JJ’s.

On Saturday, starting at noon, Trak Productions will be hosting an outside music event with the Lucky Dog Music Hall and the Center Bar and Grill that features live music by Sam James, the Silverbacks and Uncle Billy’s Smokehouse; Soilwork headlines the Palladium; the legendary Babe Pino Band returns to Gilrein’s; and Hey Now Morris Fader joins the Lights Out and Huck at Ralph’s.

Other events:

Snoopy, a Musical opens on Friday at the First Congregational Church of Oxford and continues throughout the weekend.

Saturday, the Big Dipper all you can eat ice cream festival happens 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Elm Park. Arts for the Animals features top quality art for sale, and it benefits the Worcester Animal Rescue League. The event also takes place at the rescue league on Holden Street in Worcester from noon to 5 p.m. Romance author Rita Sawyer will be signing copies of her novel “A Brazen Love Worth Fighting For” at 1 p.m. at Borders Books.
